My Community

Community & Industry Volunteer.

I believe our communities become stronger by giving and supporting our professions, communities and people. I have and continue to engage as a volunteer for community organisations, NFP organisations and corporate mentoring and development opportunities.

Current:

Financial Services Institute of Australasia (Finsia)

• Non-Executive Director (Appointed June 2021).

• Director, Mentor, Presenter, Keynote Speaker, Former Lecturer.

• Active member, participant and volunteer in Australasia’s peak financial services industry body Finsia.

• Mentor: Participant as Mentor in 15 formal Finsia mentoring programs Sydney 2009 – present.

• Financial Services Professional (FSP) Credential Supervisor: Selected as part of the inaugural team of Finsia members who acted as FSP credential supervisors.

• Presentations include: Leaders in our Midst, Finsia YFP Networking Events, Winning the Job You Want, ‘Going Global’ Presentation and ‘Going Global networking lunch’.

• Former Lecturer: Lecturer for Securities Institute/Finsia Education.

GWS Giants

• Foundation Corporate Partner (2010 – Present) .

• Became a Foundation Partner of Team GWS in August 2010, prior to the Giants being awarded the 18th AFL Licence and when the club was based at Blacktown.

• Volunteer role marketing the GWS Giants to our business associates as a Foundation Corporate Partner of the Club.

• Assisted the Victorian player and family welfare team by attending events in Melbourne and Sydney and making Victorian player’s families feel welcomed to the club. Spending time with inaugural coach Kevin Sheedy was an absolute highlight during the early years.

• Longest serving continuous corporate partner of the Giants.

• Personal member of the Victorian-based Southern Giants coterie group to grow corporate supporters south of Sydney.

• Contributor to Giants Foundation and Giant Hand.

Bancoora Surf Life Saving Club Inc.

• Committee Member (Appointed July 2019).

• Community-based, Not-for-Profit charity supporting surfclub patrolling at Bancoora Beach at the township of Breamlea.

• Club sponsor, editor of club newsletter, the ‘Banny Bulletin’, Nippers coach and water safety and volunteer Patrol Vice Captain.

Rivers Gift

• Fundraiser, donator and runner.

• Not-for-Profit DGR 1 charity, largest source of non-government funding to Australian SIDS research in conjunction with partners such as Harvard Medical School and Boston Children’s Hospital.

• Former Non-Executive Director (July 2015 – June 2020). Chair Audit & Risk Committee (2019 - 2020).

Kaplan (Formerly SIA/Finsia Education)

• Presenter, Lecturer, Practitioner, Task Force Member: Kaplan Master of Applied Finance Degree - Sydney (December 2004 – March 2016).

• Responsible for lecturing, creating, reviewing, presenting and amending course content and preparing and marking assignments and exams for the following subjects: Strategic Management (FIN234), Real Estate Analysis and Funding (FIN228) and Structuring and Packaging Financial Products (FIN221).

South West Healthcare

• Independent Non-Executive Director (July 2010 – June 2013).

• Regional public hospital portfolio - annual revenue over $120 million, 1200 staff.

• Member of Audit/Risk Board Committee and Quality of Care Board Committee.

• 2012 - Completed $26 million Community Health primary care centre.

• 2011 - Completed $115 million redevelopment of primary campus.

• 2010 - Victorian Regional Health Service of the year.
